Dr Beverley Orser will present an overview of the Canadian anesthesia workforce, presenting the decades of historical antecedents to our current health and human resources challenges. She will describe the present state of our national anesthesia workforce and discuss strategies in place to improve access to anesthesia care given the significant resource limitations facing our health care system.
