The CAS Annual Business Meeting (ABM) will be held in-person and virtually on Sunday June 9, 2024 from 11:45am to 12:45pm PT as part of the 2024 Annual Meeting in Victoria, BC.
If you are attending the Annual Meeting in Victoria, BC and wish to participate in the ABM, it will occur at the Victoria Convention Centre, 720 Douglas Street. To attend virtually please register below. Please note, only Active Members are entitled to vote at the meetings of the members. All CAS members are welcomed to attend.
The purpose of the meeting includes:
To approve the minutes of the last Annual Business Meeting held on June 11, 2023
To receive the reports of the President and other officers of the Corporation;
To appoint the public accountant of the Corporation for the ensuing year;
To receive the reports of the Canadian Journal of Anesthesia (CJA), the Canadian Anesthesia Research Foundation (CARF), the CAS International Education Foundation (CASIEF), ACUDA and the World Federation of Society of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA); and
To transact such other business as may be properly brought before the Meeting.
Additionally, the election of the President and Vice President of the Society will take place at the meeting. The current Vice President, Dr Giuseppe Fuda, will stand for election as President, and after a call for expressions of interest for the office of Vice President, the CAS Board of Directors has supported the CAS Nominations Committee recommendation for the election of Dr James (Jim) Kim.
