SUMMARY: Obstructive Sleep Apnea in Adult Ambulatory Anesthesia Webinar
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA)\, whether diagnosed prior or susp
ected on the day of surgery\, can pose many challenges for safe perioperat
ive care. Anesthesiologists are commonly tasked with providing preoperati
ve directives for the care of OSA patients\, reducing patient risk with an
esthesia care tailored to avoid the hazards associated with OSA\, and coor
dinating appropriate postoperative patient disposition. As ambulatory sur
gery becomes increasingly common\, establishing a patient’s safe dischar
ge from hospital on the day of surgery requires insight and good clinical
judgement. In this webinar we will review evidence and give direction to
navigate guidelines of care in order to facilitate safe home discharge for
OSA patients having ambulatory procedures. \n\nhttps://secure.cas.ca/eve
